Wheel of Fortune

In 2014, SmashWerks followed artists Jill Sutherland, Anne Staveley, and their incredible team to Burning Man to document their art installation the Wheel of Fortune. A magical piece of interactive art, the Wheel is comprised of 22 reclaimed doors in a circle. Choose a door, walk through, and you realize you have chosen one of the 22 major arcana of the tarot. Displayed on the back of each door is the artists' beautiful interpretation of the tarot in black and white, sometimes double or triple exposure, film photography. It was a gift to participate and shoot this journey and we hold this film very near and dear to our hearts...
